RLP Mechanical is looking for a skilled and qualified Plumber. This employee will be involved in the installation, modification, and repair of utility, supply, and disposal systems, fixtures, fittings, and equipment such as sewage, water, gas, and oil lines, compressed air, vacuum, and acid systems, water closets, water heaters, hydrants, valves, and pumps. This Plimber will be joining an amazing and growing team.
Plumber Job Requirements
- Assemble, install and repair pipes, fittings and fixtures of heating, water and drainage systems
- Be able to read blue prints and lay out plumbing systems for underground rough and the top out phase
- Have an understanding of plumbing codes in different jurisdictions
- Install DWV (Drain, Waste and Vent systems), domestic water piping (hot & cold systems) and acid waste during new construction or remodels
- Install natural gas systems for commercial buildings and hospitals
- The ability to Solder & Brazing of copper tubing, thread steel pipe, and use ProPress is recommended
- Industrial experience is a plus
- Fill pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observe pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks (testing procedures)
- Cut openings in structures to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings, using hand and power tools
- Install underground storm, sanitary and water piping systems and extend piping to these systems
- Study specifications, building plans and shop drawings to determine tools and equipment required and the appropriate sequence of installation.
- Install and repair plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, bathtubs, urinals, water heaters, water softeners and others.
- Locate and mark the position of pipe, pipe connections and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors using ruler, level and laser.
- Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and fittings, using hand and power tools and install sleeves and leave outs for roof and wall penetrations.
- Dig, backfill and tamp ditches using shovels, picks, and tampers.
- Cut, ream and solder copper tubing/piping, braze, solvent weld, fuse groove and thread pipe using pipe cutters, reamers, torches, allow gaskets, solvent cements, fusing machines, press fittings, grove and pipe-threading machines.
- Assemble and install valves, pipes and fittings composed of metals.
- Joins and fills pipe.
Plumber Job Qualifications
- Have a least 4 yrs of experience in commercial plumbing environment
- Hold State license (or qualified to sit for the exam in Texas immediately)
- Prior experience in HVAC/Mechanical in Commercial capacity a plus
- Valid Driver License and background check required
- Osha 10 preferred
- Enjoys a fast paced environment and is able to meet deadlines
- Attention to detail and punctual
