ABOUT THE JOB:

The HVAC Mechanic will install, repair, and maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. As an HVAC Mechanic, depending on your area expertise, you could be installing or servicing by traveling to our customers locations, inspecting their current equipment, find defects in their device, and perform the required repairs and/or maintenance routines.

Responsibilities include:

• Installs new HVAC units in residential, commercial, or industrial buildings.
• Installs ductwork and thermostats to control HVAC system.
• Performs routine maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure they operate properly.
• Inspects and troubleshoots problems with existing HVAC units.
• Installs replacement parts on existing HVAC units.
• Maintains inventory of replacement parts and orders replacements.
• Cleaning, adjusting, repairing systems, and performing warranty services.
• Maintaining a detailed inventory of all HVAC equipment and resources.
• Ensuring compliance with appliance standards.
• Comply with service standards, work instructions, customer requirements.
• Participate in technical trainings, safety meetings, and teamwork projects.
• Ability to work after hours, over the weekends, be on-call and holiday work, as needed.

In addition to your core values, to be successful in this HVAC Mechanic role, you will possess the following:

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems and equipment (for experienced technicians).
• Ability to use power and hand tools.
• Ability to use thermometers, pressure gauges, and other testing devices to evaluate HVAC system.
• Ability to read operation and repair manuals for HVAC systems.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Excellent mechanical skills.
• Excellent communication skills, as required to interact with customer.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Vocational/technical school training or apprenticeship of an HVAC program- not required for entry-level but helpful.
• Current HVAC technician license- required for experienced technician level.

Physical Requirements include:

• Working within tight/confined spaces.
• Physically able to work on HVAC units.
• Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, crawling, or climbing ladders.
• Possibly of working in settings with extreme cold or extreme heat, depending on the time of year.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs+ and communicate when needing a team lift member.
