ABOUT THE JOB:

Bates is seeking an HVAC Service Technician with a high-energy, hands-on approach, with the ability to work independently and as a team, to provide support to the team. This position’s primary functions revolve around service calls, repairs, and new construction installations.

We offer a variety of refrigeration, ventilation, and air conditioning services to commercial customers such as property management companies, restaurants, fitness facilities, mall stores, banks, and more.

HVAC Service Technician with 5 years of experience diagnosing and repairing HVAC equipment is preferred. 

Responsibilities & Requirements include:

  • Tech needs to have basic hand tools, torches, and gauges
  • Not afraid of heights
  • Familiar with basic electricity
  • Communicate and work well with others
  • OSAH 10 or 30, scissor / forklift operation certifications & fall protection certification
  • Can properly set sub cool and superheat
  • Proficient in all types of refrigeration, walk ins, reach ins, and ice machines
  • Proficient in building pressure requirements
  • Proficient in ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Experience delegating job scopes to less experienced techs (can manage 1-4 people)
  • Proficient in reading wire diagrams
  • Proficient in economizer controls (set-up and troubleshooting)
  • Basic DDC/BAS controls (I-Vue, etc.)
  • Proficient in air cooled chillers
  • Available to assist Level I techs on the phone with all aspects above

Physical Requirements include:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and working in the elements daily, 50+ hours a week.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access all areas of a facility.
