HR Assistant

Salary Range:  $40,000 - $45,000 year

Sparkle Wash Fox Valley is seeking an HR Assistant with exceptional organizational and communication abilities. An HR assistant is required to be a conceptual thinker with excellent time management and organizational abilities. You must be dependable and able to follow directions precisely, multitask, and adapt to an ever changing environment.  Sparkle Wash Fox Valley is a family-owned business, therefore this role will incorporate human resources, customer service and scheduling.

To succeed, HR assistants must have exceptional dispute resolution and decision-making abilities, as well as a thorough grasp of employee interactions, personnel management, and payroll and benefits administration. The best applicants will be excellent at problem-solving, scheduling, and recruitment.

HR Assistant Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Keep employee records up to date.
  • Focus on recruiting, hiring, training and employee retention.
  • Assist benefit vendors and administrators by acting as a point of contact.
  • Develop and execute personnel procedures and policies.
  • Enforce attendance policies and documentation.
  • Keep the employee handbook, directory and organizational chart up to date and communicated.
  • Ensure that all compensation and benefit documentation is completed.
  • Suggest new procedures or polices for improving the employee experience.
  • Process bi-weekly payroll and correct any mistakes.
  • Complete termination documentation and exit interviews.
  • Keep abreast of the most recent HR trends and best practices.
  • Ensure filing systems are maintained and current.
  • Assist in answering incoming calls by providing world class customer service.
  • Ensure security, integrity and confidentiality of data.
  • Assist the Customer Relations Administrator in scheduling work orders to ensure efficiency.
  • Attend training as necessary.
  • Strive to meet company sales goals by upselling and bundling jobs.
  • Contact clients for payment resolution or negotiate payment arrangements.
  • Enter Accounts Payable invoices.

HR Assistant Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field.
  • 2 years experience as a human resources assistant.
  • Labor law and employment equity requirements knowledge.
  • HR administration and people management abilities.
  • Knowledge of payroll practices.
  • HR functions knowledge.
  • Excellent communication abilities, both written and vocal.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Highly computer savvy, with experience with email, Microsoft Office, and other business and communication software, QuickBooks knowledge a plus.
  • Fantastic time management and organizing abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow directions precisely.
