Armed Guard

Key Role and Responsibility – Driver/Armed Guard/Messenger:

* Maintaining safety, security and control of the armored vehicle at all times by adhering to company’s safety policies and procedures
* Maintain radio communication with branch and/or dispatch
* Load and unload the armored vehicle at base and assisting messenger in doing the same
* Completing and updating appropriate driving and delivery documentation such as checking off the routes and customer receipts etc.
* Ensure overall cleanliness of vehicle interior
* Cross train and perform other assigned duties
* Perform pre-trip and post trip inspections and notify any faults experienced before or during the route
* Must be able to drive vehicles weighing up to fifty-five thousand pounds
* Must be able to follow and uphold company’s safety and security policies and procedures.
* Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.

Minimum Qualifications – Driver/Armed Guard/Messenger:
* Must be at least 21 years of age
* Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Must have valid and clean state driver’s license
* Ability to carry and use a firearm on duty
* Be able to pass post offer preliminary employment checks including but not limited to, drug test, polygraph examination (NY only), background and employment verification checks and DMV checks
* Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays and work overtime when required
* Must be able to attend and pass compliance training including refresher trainings, DOT Compliance etc.
* Agree to follow firearms, driving and operational procedures.
* Ability to work alone and as a team

Licensing and Certification – Driver/Armed Guard/Messenger:

* Ability to obtain and carry a valid city/county permit for a handgun.
* Ability to obtain and carry a valid class D operator driver’s license.
* Ability to obtain the 47-hour armed guard course certificate
* Obtain any other ID’s, licenses or registrations required by local, state, or federal authorities.
* Having Armed Carrier Guard License, military background or related professional driving experience is a plus

Physical and Mental Requirements – Driver/Armed Guard/Messenger:
* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
* Ability to push and pull up to 2,500 pounds (coin skid) with a hand pallet jack
* Ability to sit in and drive company vehicles for extended periods
Work Environment – Driver/Armed Guard/Messenger: 
* Ability to sit in and drive company vehicles for extended periods
* Ability to start early morning and work until route ends
* Ability to work any of the given days of the week including weekends and holidays
