Responsibilities for embroidery machine operator
- Clean and fold item
- Observes sewing operation to detect defects in stitching that indicate machine malfunction and corrects malfunction when needed
- Selects size and color thread and draws it through machine guides and bobbin
- Observes sewing operation to detect defects in stitching that indicate machine malfunction and notifies supervisor of malfunction
- Reads work order to determine type and location of embroidery
- May repair defective embroidery or fill in blanks left by embroidery machine
- Operate automatic embroidery machines with multiple sewing heads controlled by perforated pattern tape
- Operate a Tajima 6 or 8 head embroidery machine on a daily basis
- Embroider Apparel and Misc
- Ensure items are embroidered with correct logo and colors as noted on work order
Qualifications for embroidery machine operator
- 6 months minimum experience in Manufacturing, preferably in sewing
- Ability to stand, stoop, bend for up to 8 hours/day
- Trim, fold, bag and box embroidered apparel if needed
- Perform quality control on the apparel, organize, pack and prep boxes for shipment if needed
- Experience in the embroidery business a must
- Prior experience using embroidery machine
