As a Renaissance Estimator you will be responsible for coordinating preconstruction services and preparing overall project estimates from conceptual budgets to full cost estimates for private commercial projects in the industrial, office, healthcare, retail and hospitality markets.

Estimator responsibilities shall include:

  • Perform pre-construction services, providing construction estimates, preliminary project schedules, constructability reviews, cost models, etc. over various phases of a project.
  • Prepare estimates with the proper level of detail for all design stages: Conceptual, Schematic Design, Design Development and Construction Documents.
  • Prepare estimates of probable costs of materials, labor and equipment, and subcontracts for construction projects based on contract bids, quotations, schematic drawings and specifications.
  • Prepare and tabulate quantity survey and price based on historic cost data and vendor cost quotations.
  • Assist in the preparation of studies, materials and methods, recommendations, and relative cost estimates as required.
  • Solicit subcontractor and vendor quotations utilizing Building Connected, evaluate scope and determine any deficits (i.e. exclusions, incomplete scopes, etc.) compared with like quotations and estimate requirements.
  • Responsible for identifying possible cost saving opportunities and/or risk items that will occur on various projects.
  • Manage the preparation and coordination of bid documents, production, subcontractor and vendor pricing, and project turnover to Project Manager.
  • Reviews drawings and bid requirements thoroughly to analyze project needs to perform detailed cost estimates.
  • Develops RFIs and clarifications and ensure adequate subcontractor coverage.
  • Maintain open communication and good working relationship with project manager, superintendent, engineer, architect, and management team.

Qualifications:

  • Education - It is preferred to have a four (4) Year Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or Equivalent related field.
  • Experience – 5 or More Years of Related Commercial Construction Industry Experience. 2 or More Years Experience in Estimating Role with the Ability to Execute Multiple Estimates Simultaneously.
  • Safety – OSHA10 hour, CPR/ First Aid certifications preferred.
  • Technical – Timberline software experience preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Applications, On Screen, Takeoff and Blue Beam.
  • Working Knowledge of Current Market Conditions Including Pricing Conventions and Trends.
  • Complete Knowledge of the Estimating Documents and the Ability to Provide Accurate Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis of the Documents.
