This is an opportunity for an experienced, Masters-level therapist to join a small but growing substance abuse recovery outpatient facility in Gilbert (moving to Mesa in October) that works exclusively with Native Americans struggling with addiction and trauma issues. We blend Native American Traditional Recovery programming with evidence-based therapies, primarily in group classes, while also supporting with individual counseling.
This experienced therapist will collaborate with a team of clinicians, facilitators, and case managers to assist Native American clients in their recovery goals. Clients are both outpatient and residents of area behavioral group homes.
The qualified candidate will be dependable, caring, compassionate and punctual. You will have excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and problem-solving skills. You will be versatile, flexible, and willing to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm. This is a challenging role but with long-term upside.
The successful candidate will understand that they are a part of a team that is still forging culture and is comfortable with change. Successful candidate will have strong awareness of personal and professional boundaries.
Routine responsibilities include:
- Performing Intake Assessments and creating Treatment Plans for new clients
- Performing regular individual therapy sessions with clients to help them advance their recovery goals.
- Attend weekly staff meetings to review client progress.
- Work with Program Manager to identify program enhancements to further promote clients’ recovery goals.
- Entry of group class notes if needed as a back-up to scribe
- Act as facilitator for psycho-education courses if needed
Must-Have Requirements:
- Masters-Level Degree from accredited institution in a relevant field
- A schedule that allows you to in our office Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm with NO routine interruptions or outside distractions
- Ability to pass background check
- Minimum three year’s recovery from drugs and/or alcohol if relevant
Preferred Requirements:
- LISAC, LASAC or other State-recognized independent license a bonus
- Experience with Native Americans in substance abuse recovery a HUGE plus

This role can be either contract or permanent. All perm hires will undergo a 90-day evaluation to ensure good fit.
