Behavioral Health Technician - Outpatient Clinic

This is an opportunity for an experienced BHT with skills in documenting group therapy notes in TherapyNotes or TheraNest or similar EHR. You will be working for an outpatient substance abuse counseling center in Gilbert, AZ (moving to Mesa). At the center, we blend Native American Traditional Recovery programming with evidence-based therapies, primarily in group classes, while also supporting with individual counseling.

This experienced BHT will collaborate with a team of clinicians, facilitators, and case managers to assist Native American clients in their recovery goals. Clients are both outpatient and residents of area behavioral group homes.

The qualified candidate will be dependable, caring, compassionate and punctual. You will have excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and problem-solving skills. You will be versatile, flexible, and willing to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm. Successful candidate will have strong awareness of personal and professional boundaries.

Routine responsibilities include:

• Taking daily attendance for group therapy classes
• Documenting notes in EHR for all clients at sufficient clinical level - classes can have as many as 30 clients in each class so ability to work quickly is important
• Attend weekly staff meetings to review client progress.

Must-Have Requirements:

• Bachelors-Level Degree from accredited institution in a relevant field
• A schedule that allows you to in our office Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm with NO routine interruptions or outside distractions
• Excellent computer skills and experience with web-based EHR's
• Ability to pass background check
• Minimum three year’s recovery from drugs and/or alcohol if relevant

Preferred Requirements:

• Ability to act as facilitator for occasional psycho-education classes as needed
• Experience with Native Americans in substance abuse recovery a HUGE plus
• Native Americans applying have advantage

This role can be either contract or permanent. All perm hires will undergo a 90-day evaluation to ensure good fit.
