As a Lead Behavioral Health Technician, your primary responsibility will be to guide the safety, physical and emotional well-being, and supervision of children in the Agency's care at our Emergency Shelter. This includes providing assessments, goal setting, and coaching to improve life skills while providing a safe, and stable, community- based home.
*The schedule for this position is Wednesday through Saturday, 12:00pm until 10:00pm.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain safety, security, and supervision of youth at all times, to include oversight and supervision of daily routines
- Serve as a positive role model, utilizing approved behavior modification techniques to help youth learn desirable behaviors
- Provide positive reinforcement and support
- Assist in developing and training staff on policies, procedures, and house schedule
- Serve as the point of contact for policies and procedure compliance in the absence of the Supervisor
- Train new staff to ensure understanding and compliance of Shelter policies and procedures
- Assist in crisis protocol as needed
- Manage the calendar to ensure all appointments, outings, visits, etc. to ensure necessary staffing needed to accommodate clients
- Assist volunteers on-site to appropriate activities to promote a positive experience for children
- Delegate house responsibilities to ensure all duties are completed prior to shift ending
- Oversee the planning of group outings and special functions
- Assist with monthly audits and review staff training records to ensure staff compliance in training
- Assist Program Coordinator with quality assurance checks and program documentation
- Ensure documentation accuracy
- Model Center’s expectation for sensitivity and competency relating to diversity and cultural awareness
Education/ Experience:
- High School Diploma required
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Three years experience working with children or adolescent youth within behavioral health or similar setting
- Experience leading, training, and/or developing staff
- Must possess or able to obtain prior to employment a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Must have valid Arizona Driver’s license, exhibit the ability to operate Agency vans and/or vehicles safely, and have a clean 5-year motor vehicle history.
- Must maintain all Agency and licensing training and certification requirements as required
- Must have computer proficiency to ensure that log notes are entered as required
